Equine-Assisted Therapy

HORSE THERAPY

Equine-assisted therapy, which most people refer to as Horse Therapy, encompasses a range of treatments that involve activities with horses to promote human physical and mental health. Trauma-focused therapeutic riding is a valuable tool for people recovering from traumatic experiences.

It could be loosely said that Horses make excellent friends and therapists. They don’t lie, judge, or have hidden agendas. Even the most traumatized child can learn to trust a horse because horses are consistent. When a horse looks frightened, he is frightened. Since their responses are authentic, horses are trustworthy learning partners and can reduce the child’s stress.

Oct7KIDS has recruited Equine-Assisted Therapy facilitators to work with individual children traumatically affected by the events of October 7.

For a greater impact on the population of children suffering from anxiety and trauma, Oct7KIDS hopes for a ranch of its own. A fundraising campaign for the Oct7KIDS Refuah Ranch and Village is underway.
